6th Aklapela festival in Dubrovnik

The sixth edition of the Aklapela festival will be held from 28 to 30 April 2017 in the Lazareti and in the Franciscan church. This year’s Aklapela will host a total of thirteen klapas, and we are among them, performing on the second evening.

On Friday 28 April the performing klapas are: FA Lindjo, Mriža, Skontradura, Subrenum, Basca and Tragos. On Saturday 29 April, performing alongside Kaše are Armorin, Bošket, Ćakulone, Pinguentum, Teranke and Vinčace. Traditionally, this year too the Festival ends with a concert of sacred music in the Franciscan church, as a gift to the City and its visitors.

“Aklapela has slowly but surely become a date not to be missed, an event we prepare for and a performance that always shows us where we are and what we are. Klapa singers who sing at Aklapela come with pride, and those who do not sing follow closely who is on the list of performers. It is no exaggeration to say that Aklapela is the Omiš-before-Omiš, a gathering of the chosen and the selected,” said the artistic director of klapa Kaše, Vicko Dragojević.
