New song ‘Srce oriđinala’ from the documentary ‘Storije o neponovljivima’
Klapa Kaše has filmed a music video for the new single ‘Srce oriđinala’. It is the theme from the documentary by Vedran Benić, ‘Storije o neponovljivima’, which is shown every Wednesday on the First Programme of Croatian Television starting at 9 pm.
‘Srce oriđinala’ is the theme song of the documentary series ‘Storije o neponovljivima’, and the video was made as an elaboration of the musical opening theme that Vicko Dragojević composed for the series and which is performed by klapa Kaše.
“The new video uses footage from a Croatian Radiotelevision film about the Dubrovački trubaduri from the mid-1970s, and viewers may find it interesting to see a young Oliver Dragojević, then a member of the Trubaduri, with a guitar under his arm – almost half a century ago,” explains Vicko Dragojević, who began his musical career 17 years ago, first as a thirteen-year-old guitarist and lute player, and then as a singer in numerous Dubrovnik klapas and ensembles. Besides the composition ‘Srce oriđinala’, Vicko Dragojević and klapa Kaše also took an active part in the filming of the documentary series ‘Storije o neponovljivima’ itself, and in some episodes they appear in a typical Dubrovnik betula, singing and playing.
“I am very proud of the collaboration with the HRT team led by Vedran Benić, because in one place I managed to connect two of my loves – song and television. I took part in the series by composing the opening theme and playing the instrumental, and now with the klapa I am waiting for the first episode to be broadcast. Incidentally, even the filming of the ‘Srce oriđinala’ video on the streets of Dubrovnik could not pass without jokes and fun. So in one part of the filming we were joined by some tourists, ladies from South Korea, who sang ‘Srce oriđinala’ with us and danced on Stradun. The new video would be almost unimaginable without their unique choreography,” says Vicko Dragojević, who as artistic director of klapa Kaše has won awards at almost all Croatian festivals, and has twice won the most prestigious of them, the ‘Festival dalmatinskih klapa’ in Omiš.
Incidentally, the Croatian Radiotelevision documentary series ‘Storije o neponovljivima’, in seven half-hour episodes every Wednesday, introduces viewers to Dubrovnik’s eccentrics, oddballs, bohemians and one-of-a-kind characters – as Luko Paljetak called them in the poem ‘Balada neponovljivijeh’.
