New video for “Ljubavi moja”
After a successful summer filled with numerous concerts, Klapa Kaše presents the video for the song “Ljubavi moja”, which the audience recognised and rewarded at this year’s Večeri dalmatinske šansone in Šibenik.
The lyrics are by Davor Mojaš, the music by Vicko Dragojević, and the arrangement by Vicko Dragojević and Hrvoje Domazet. Now the song has also been given an unusual klapa video. Paolo Tišljarić, director of the Marin Držić Theatre and one of the most promising directors of the younger generation, wanted to give the song an intriguing visual dimension, moving away from the usual Mediterranean context.
Paolo Tišljarić, who has been working with Klapa Kaše on various projects since 2018, points out that this video is the high point of their artistic collaboration so far. “I wanted to move away from the classic ‘Mediterranean’ context and offer their audience a visually and contextually intriguing story based on Davor Mojaš’s vivid lyrics. In a macabre atmosphere we question the hot-and-cold attitude towards past (and present) loves, playing with stereotypical situations from everyday life”, explained the director of the video.
In the video the klapa was joined by the well-known actress Anja Đurinović. “Anja Đurinović and I felt the material in the same way and decided to portray the life and death of a love relationship through the body and movement. I think the members of the klapa coped very well with the acting tasks I gave them, the atmosphere on set was pleasant and stimulating, so I am eagerly awaiting the first reactions from the audience”, added Tišljarić. The filming was carried out with the support of the Marin Držić Theatre, which provided the set and props, and the production involved camera operators Dominik Miljak, Toni Mostahinić and Juraj Paljetak, and lighting technicians Silvio Giron and Antonio Ljubojević. The painter Anamarija Obradović lent her paintings for the set.
The Dubrovnik klapa has now performed at the Večeri dalmatinske Šansone festival in Šibenik for the fourth time, and their previous performances were also extremely successful, just like this year’s. With the song “Petrunjela” in 2015 they won the Grand Prix – the first audience award, the award for the best singer-songwriter work and the award for the best debutant. In 2022 the composition “Godine su brodovi” brought them the award for the most complete singer-songwriter work and the award for the best lyrics. Last year, with the composition “Kad Stradun zanoća”, they won the Third Audience Award, which they repeated this year with the song “Ljubavi moja”.
