New video “Podiglo se malo četovanje”

As the lead single of its new album ‘Tragom Republike’, the Dubrovnik klapa Kaše chose the song ‘Podiglo se malo četovanje’, a traditional song from the island of Lastovo, characteristic of the Dubrovnik region. Stradun, the pride and heart of the City of Dubrovnik, was chosen as the filming location for the video, and while there was dancing and singing, the curious glances of the many tourists could not be avoided.

Hundreds of them stopped to admire the traditional costume and the traditional song of the area, but also the unusual style of filming. The action in the video, namely, runs backwards, so the main actors had to perform every action completely the opposite of how they would do it in real life. This was the idea of the director and author of the video, Matko Saltarić, who, with technical support from Mišo Sorić, shot the whole video in just one take. Alongside the members of klapa Kaše, a special role was played by their colleagues from the KUD ‘Marko Marojica’ from Župa Dubrovačka, who, in the indigenous costumes of Župa Dubrovačka, danced and played the ljerica.

– We are extremely proud of this music video, because videos of a cappella songs are rare, and especially with this specific way of filming. We hope that with this video we have managed to awaken and show the spirit of a true Dubrovnik festa, and I would especially like to thank the young ladies and young men of the Župa KUD, who did not find it hard to hold the necessary rehearsals with us and then film for hours, in order to capture that specific spirit of Stradun and Dubrovnik, said Vicko Dragojević, member and artistic director of klapa Kaše.
