‘Tezoro’ on sale!
Klapa Kaše from Dubrovnik, which has been awarded many times for its brilliant performances, has released a new studio album titled ‘Tezoro’. The recently released lead single ‘Marčelina’ and the remaining 11 songs from the album carry the spirit of the old singing of the Dubrovnik gentry, listening carefully to the musical pulse of their region.
The klapa, which took its name from the Kaše breakwater by the old city harbour and which symbolises the klapa as a breakwater of the multipart singing of the Dubrovnik region, has performed at numerous festivals across Croatia and abroad. They regularly win honours, foremost among them two victories at the most prestigious klapa festival in Omiš, in 2012 and 2014.
“This is our third album, whose story began with ‘Petrunjela’ and ends with ‘Marčelina’, in a slightly different sound and atmosphere from what we have accustomed our audience to” – said Vicko Dragojević, leader of the klapa, who once again stresses that the whole album carries the spirit of Dubrovnik.
‘Tezoro’ is the successor to the 2014 album ‘Tragom Republike’, and that is also the name of their own concert programme, in which they revived and brought together 16 original songs of the Dubrovnik region and, with the help of lijerica players, toast singers, actors and dancers, presented a musical reflection of Dubrovnik’s musical history. Dubrovnik is the symbol of Croatian history, and klapa Kaše is the symbol of Dubrovnik!
