“Tezoro” presented in Zagreb too
The third studio release by Dubrovnik’s Klapa Kaše, “Tezoro”, was presented at the Nova ploča Caffe Bar and Music Shop. The album was presented by Croatia Records editor Domagoj Bešlić and klapa leader Vicko Dragojević. Members of the media, fans of Klapa Kaše’s music and even passers-by had the opportunity to hear 4 compositions from the latest album, among them “Petrunjela”, the song which this year was declared the best in the history of the Makarska klapa festival.
– We recorded our last studio release before Tezoro in 2014. We didn’t want to rush the release of the new album; we recorded every song at least 2 times and added three new compositions to the singles that had done well on the radio. We are constantly balancing between the original klapa idiom and mainstream music, aware of the fact that klapa is not what it was in the 1960s, but that the spirit of what we are must be preserved – said Vicko Dragojević.
– Kaše are special in that they cultivate the tradition of the former Dubrovački trubaduri, and with their multipart singing, mandolins, guitar, flute and double bass they stand out from all other klapas. It gives me great pleasure that, following my father, I have continued working with this talented group of musicians – added musician and producer Đelo Jusić Jr.
